OKO and Fabregas:

Boosting sustainability in Vigo with smart street furniture

The city of Vigo has incorporated Eco-Ocean benches and litter garbage cans, a solution developed by Fábregas which, in addition to being made from recycled materials, now features OKO technology to improve citizen management and interaction.

Thanks to the integrated OKOTags, these urban elements offer access to information about their sustainable origin and the positive environmental impact of their installation. Through a scan with a cell phone, citizens can learn details about the circular economy applied to urban furniture and municipal initiatives in this area. In addition, our digital platform allows urban managers to monitor its status in real time, facilitating maintenance and optimizing public resources.

Each bank has a plaque highlighting its commitment to the reuse of materials and the reduction of marine pollution, promoting public awareness of the importance of a more sustainable environment. 🌊

This collaboration between OKO and Fabregas not only reinforces the concept of smart street furniture, but also demonstrates how technology can contribute to the digital transformation of cities, making them more efficient and connected.

The implementation of this solution in Vigo marks the beginning of a model that can be replicated in other locations, promoting digitalization, sustainability and efficient management of public space.
