Digitization of 20,000 trees in Montenegro in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture
In the week of October 14-17, OKTICS participated in a pioneering digitization project in Prokletije National Park, Montenegro, monitoring 20,000 selected trees together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, led by Vladimir Joković.
Our objective was to implement technology for forest conservation, allowing a more efficient and sustainable management of the ecosystem.
At the heart of this initiative are our OKOTags, smart tags that contain embedded chips and unique QR codes. These tags are placed on trees to collect real-time data on environmental conditions, tree condition and other key conservation factors.
By scanning the OKOTags with a mobile device, technicians and project managers can access detailed information about each tree, allowing them to be easily identified, their characteristics recorded and their health monitored over time.
This project had the key support of the Honorary Consul of Montenegro, Ivana Kovač Barett, who actively collaborated. In addition, we met with the team of the Minister of Health, Vojislav Šimun, to explore future applications of digitization in healthcare.
Our collaboration with Crossmedia Agency was essential in every phase of the execution of this project. As a local partner, Crossmedia provided us with the necessary support to bring our technological solutions to Montenegro, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and innovation in every country where we operate.
